We stayed in Tulum a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. It’s so peaceful and so relaxed. Like you say, the beaches are stunning, the food is amazing and the Mayan ruins are absolutely incredible. Wish we didn’t live so far away or we’d be back all the time! Great write-up.

A few years ago we visited the Tulum ruins when we were staying at the Riviera Maya but didn’t make it to the beach.. now I wish I had known! Beautiful photos!!

In reply to Caitlin Nguyen. Yes this happened to me to! Plan for next time so you can add it to your itinerary :) I believe the beach is only accessible from the ruins. Once you are there you can go back and forth.

I’ve been to Mexico for a few times and still haven’t been to Tulum. Have to make sure to add this to my list! Can you walk from the beach to the archeological ruins?

Dear Claudia, this article couldn’t come at a better time for me. I went to Tulum 10 years ago and it was one of my favorite places EVER. Just 3 days ago we decided to go back together, Marcel and I, next winter. Your pictures reawaken my longing and confirm that I was right to make that decision! This place is simply PARADISE!
